LTE-M/NB IoT Modem
The nRF9160 LTE modem integrates RFFE, radio, and baseband. It supports global operations, eliminating the need for cIoT products to be divided into multiple regional models.
LTE modems support half duplex FDD operation as well as all energy saving and enhanced coverage modes, providing a single pin antenna interface.
LTE stack layers L1 through L3, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP, and TLS/DTLS are all part of modem firmware. The application processor communicates with the LTE modem through the BSD secure sockets API, and includes application layer protocols such as HTTP, CoAP, MQTT, or LWM2M, as well as the application itself.
The nRF9160 LTE modem supports both SIM and eSIM in plug-in or soldered forms, providing power to the SIM and automatically handling all communication operations.
Designed for truly low-power cIoT
The specially designed nRF9160 SiP fully leverages the energy efficiency possibilities associated with LTE-M and NB-IoT standards. Nordic designs all hardware and software to provide an unparalleled, optimized, efficient, low-power cIoT solution.
The nRF9160 supports PSM and eDRX power saving modes, resulting in longer sleep operation times. For LTE-M and NB-IoT applications, the minimum current for PSM is as low as 2.7 uA, the eDRX interval is 655 seconds, and the average current for LTE-M is 6 uA, while the average current for NB-IoT is 9 uA.
Overall block diagram
The AP8000 universal programmer independently developed by Acroview Technology includes three main parts: the host, the backplane, and the adapter seat.
The host supports USB and NET connections, allowing networking of multiple eMMC Programmer, achieving the goal of controlling multiple programmers to programming simultaneously. The built-in chip safety protection circuit ensures that even short circuits caused by chip reversal or other reasons can be immediately detected and powered off to ensure the safety of the chip and programmer. Embedded high-speed FPGA greatly accelerates data transmission and processing. There is an SD card slot on the back of the host computer. The engineering files produced by the PC software are placed in the root directory of the SD card and inserted into the slot. By pressing the buttons on the programmer, you can select, load, and execute commands such as burning engineering files to achieve the goal of being operable without the PC,
greatly reducing the cost of PC hardware configuration, and facilitating and quickly matching the working environment.
The AP8000 makes the host more scalable by adding an adapter board to the backplane. Currently, it supports all devices produced by mainstream semiconductor manufacturers, including TI, ST, MicroChip, Atmel, Hynix, Macronix, Micron, Samsung, Toshiba, and so on. Supported device types include NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, and other file formats, including Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF.
