Acroview Programmer Supports MPS’s Single-Phase BLDC Motor Driver MP6616BGD

Acroview, a leader in chip programming, has officially announced the expansion of its compatible device coverage with the release of a new programmer software version. Its core product, the universal programming platform AP8000, has now achieved full adaptation with MPS’s single‑phase BLDC motor driver MP6616BGD.

The MP6616BGD is a single‑phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver that integrates MOSFETs and a Hall‑effect sensor. It operates from a 3.3V to 18V input supply voltage (VCC) and can drive up to 2A of continuous output current (IOUT).

The MP6616BGD supports both open‑loop and closed‑loop speed control; the control function is implemented via a pulse‑width modulation (PWM) signal on the PWM pin. The device features configurable soft commutation angle and Hall offset angle. The Hall offset angle can be flexibly optimized to achieve low‑speed and high‑speed performance across the full speed range.

The FG/RD pin can be used as a speed detector or rotor lock indicator. This pin is an open‑drain output and must be pulled up externally.

The MP6616BGD provides comprehensive protection features including input over‑voltage protection (OVP), under‑voltage lockout (UVLO) protection, rotor lock protection, over‑current protection (OCP), and over‑temperature shutdown protection.

In terms of safety, the mainframe is equipped with an intelligent safety protection circuit that monitors chip placement status and connection conditions in real time. Once abnormalities such as reverse insertion or short circuits are detected, it triggers an immediate power‑off protection mechanism to safeguard both the chip and the programmer.
