Acroview Programmer Supports MPS' USB PD Controller MPF52001GRE

Acroview, a leader in chip programming, has officially announced the further expansion of its compatible device coverage alongside the release of a new version of its programming software. The company's core product, the universal programming platform AP8000, has now achieved full adaptation with MPS' USB PD controller MPF52001GRE.

The MPF52001GRE is a highly integrated USB PD controller designed for source ports. It integrates a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 microcontroller with an operating frequency up to 36MHz, while providing USB Type-C port controller and legacy charging protocol management functions. It also supports firmware updates through the Configuration Channel (CC) lines. Its USB Type-C port supports USB PD 3.1 with Programmable Power Supply (PPS) and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3/4/4+ technologies, while being backward compatible with Battery Charging Specification (BC1.2), Apple divider mode, and Dedicated Charging Port (DCP) schemes for Huawei Fast Charging Protocol (FCP) / Super Charge Protocol (SCP), all without requiring external user interaction.

When the automotive battery voltage is low or an over-temperature warning is triggered, the Power Data Object (PDO) capability is reduced.

The device's fault status protection features include bus voltage (VBUS) Over-Voltage Protection (OVP), Under-Voltage Protection (UVP), and over-temperature shutdown protection. Its high-voltage I/O pins support battery short-circuit protection and VBUS short-circuit protection.

The MPF52001GRE requires only a very small number of standard external components. It is offered in a QFN-24 (4x4mm) package and is AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified.

The AP8000 main unit offers flexible connectivity options, equipped with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling convenient networking of multiple programmers. Through the networking function, users can easily achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers for efficient parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the main unit incorporates an intelligent safety protection circuit that monitors chip placement status and circuit connections in real time. Once abnormalities such as reverse insertion or short circuits are detected, it triggers an immediate power-off protection mechanism to comprehensively safeguard the safe operation of chips and the programmer. The main unit is equipped with a high-speed FPGA chip, significantly improving data transmission and processing efficiency to ensure a smooth and efficient programming process. To enhance user convenience, an SD card slot is provided on the rear of the main unit. Users simply need to save the project file generated on a PC to an SD card, insert it into the slot, and then use the physical buttons on the programmer to select, load, and execute programming operations, enabling standalone operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependence on computer hardware configurations but also simplifies workspace setup, significantly improving operational flexibility.

In terms of expandability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular combination of baseboard and adapter board, effectively expanding the main unit's functional boundaries.
