Acroview MCU programmer software supports the programming of high efficiency step-down converter MPQ

Acroview Technology, the leader of chip programming industry, recently released the latest programming software update and the list of newly supported chip models. Among them, the burning of MPQ7920GRM, the high-efficiency step-down converter of MPS core semiconductor, has been supported by Acroview's general programming platform AP8000.


MPQ7920GRM is a complete power supply solution that integrates 4 high-efficiency buck DC/DC converters, 5 low voltage differential (LDO) regulators and a flexible logic interface. The constant on-time (COT) control mode in DC/DC converter provides fast transient response. The adjustable switching frequency (up to 2.75 MHz) in continuous conduction mode (CCM) greatly reduces the external inductance and capacitance values. The all-round protection functions include undervoltage lockout protection (UVLO), overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP) and over-temperature shutdown protection. The output voltage can be adjusted through the I2C bus interface, and can also be preset through the memory that can be programmed multiple times (MTP). The opening/closing sequence can be controlled online through MTP configuration or through I2C bus.



TPS546A24ARVFR is a highly integrated non-insulated DC/DC converter with high operating frequency and 40A current output, and is packaged with 7mm x 5mm. Two, three and four TPS546A24ARVFR devices can be interconnected to provide up to 160A current on a single output. The device can over-drive the internal 5V LDO with 5V external power supply through the VDD5 pin to improve efficiency and reduce power consumption of the converter.


TPS546A24ARVFR uses proprietary fixed frequency current mode control, with input feedforward and optional internal compensation elements, which can minimize size and improve stability under various output capacitances.


PMBus interface has 1MHz clock support, provides convenient and standardized digital interface for converter configuration, and realizes the monitoring of key parameters such as output voltage, output current and internal bare chip temperature. The response to the fault condition can be set to restart, latch or ignore, depending on the system requirements. Reverse channel communication between stacked devices enables all TPS546A24ARVFR converters to power a single output rail to share an address, thus simplifying the system software/firmware design. You can also configure key parameters such as output voltage, switching frequency, soft start time and overcurrent fault limit without PMBus communication through BOM to support non-programmed power-up.

The host supports USB and NET connections, allowing multiple programmers to be networked, so as to control multiple general-purpose programmers to burn at the same time. The built-in chip safety protection circuit ensures that even if the chip is reversed or the short circuit caused by other reasons can be detected immediately and power off to ensure the safety of the chip and programmer. Embedded high-speed FPGA greatly accelerates data transmission and processing. There is an SD card slot on the back of the host computer. Put the project files produced by PC software into the root directory of the SD card and insert them into the slot. You can select, load, and execute the commands such as burning the project files by pressing the keys on the programmer to achieve the purpose of operating without the PC, greatly reducing the cost of PC hardware configuration, and quickly and conveniently matching the working environment.


The AP8000 makes the host more scalable by adding an adapter board to the backplane. At present, it has supported all devices produced by mainstream semiconductor manufacturers, including TI, ST, MicroChip, Atmel, Hynix, Macronix, Micron, Samsung, Toshiba, etc. Supported device types include NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, and other file formats including Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, POF, etc.
