Acroview Technologies update to support programming of STMicroelectronics' 32-bit microcontrol

The leader in the chip programming industry-Acroview Technology recently released the latest programming software update and a list of newly supported chip models, among which the 32-bit microcontroller STM32WB55CGU7 of ST STMicroelectronics has been adopted by Acroview's general-purpose programming platform AP8000 support.


The STM32WB55CGU7 multiprotocol wireless and ultra-low-power device embeds a powerful ultra-low-power radio module (compliant with Bluetooth® Low Energy SIG specification 5.0 and IEEE 802.15.4-2011 standards). The device contains a dedicated Arm® Cortex® -M0+ that performs all low-level real-time operations.


These devices are based on a high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M4 32-bit RISC core operating up to 64MHz and designed for ultra-low power consumption. The core features a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU) that supports all ARM® single-precision data processing instructions and data types, as well as a DSP instruction set and a memory protection unit (MPU) for enhanced application security.


IPCC provides enhanced interprocessor communication with six bidirectional channels, and HSEM provides hardware semaphores for sharing common resources between two processors.


These devices embed high-speed memory up to 1MB Flash memory for the STM32WB55CGU7, up to 256KB of SRAM for the STM32WB55CGU7, a Quad-SPI Flash memory interface (available in all packages), and a wide range of enhanced I/O and peripherals.


Direct data transfers between memory and peripherals (and memory to memory) are supported by 14 DMA channels, and the DMAMUX peripheral has fully flexible channel mapping.


These devices provide multiple mechanisms for embedded Flash memory and SRAM: read protection, write protection, proprietary code read protection. The memory part can only be accessed exclusively by the Cortex®-M0+, ensuring safety.


Two AES encryption engines (PKA and RNG) support underlying MAC and upper layer encryption, and the customer key storage feature can be used to hide keys.


These devices offer a fast 12-bit ADC and two ultralow power comparators with a high precision voltage reference generator.


These devices embed a low-power RTC, an advanced 16-bit timer, a general-purpose 32-bit timer, two general-purpose 16-bit timers, and two 16-bit low-power timers.


Additionally, up to 18 capacitive sensing channels are available for the STM32WB55CGU7 (not available on the UFQFPN48 package). The STM32WB55CGU7 also embeds an integrated LCD driver (up to 8x40 or 4x44 with internal boost converter).


STM32WB55CGU7 is also equipped with standard and advanced communication interfaces, namely: 1 USART interface (ISO 7816, IrDA, Modbus and smart card mode), 1 low-power UART (LPUART) interface, 2 I2C (SMBus/PMBus) interfaces, 2 1 SPI interface up to 32 MHz (1 for STM32WB35xx), 1 Serial Audio Interface (SAI) with dual channels and 3 PDMs, 1 USB2.0 FS device interface (embedded without crystal oscillator , supports BCD and LPM), and 1 Quad-SPI interface (with local execution (XIP) function).


The operating temperature range is -40°C~+105°C (+125°C junction temperature) and -40°C~+85°C (+105°C junction temperature), and the operating voltage range is 1.71~3.6V, suitable for A complete set of power-saving modes designed for low-power applications.


These devices include separate power supplies for the ADC's analog inputs.


STM32WB55CGU7 integrates a high-efficiency SMPS step-down converter, and enters automatic bypass mode when VDD is lower than VBORx (x=1, 2, 3, 4) voltage level (default 2.0V). It contains separate power supplies (for ADC and comparator analog inputs) and a dedicated 3.3V power input (for USB).


A dedicated VBAT supply allows the device to back up the LSE 32.768kHz oscillator, RTC and backup registers, allowing the STM32WB55CGU7 to power these functions from a battery like a CR2032, a supercapacitor or a small rechargeable battery when the main VDD is not available.
